Sandiaga Promises to Build Tolls without Adding Government Debt

"I have already shown that building the Cikopo-Palimanan Toll Road is not burdening the country's debt. It is all done with partnerships that we do with the concession system. Built by the private sector in collaboration with international consortiums and it has been proven," said Sandiaga after visiting Sampangagung village head Kutorejo Suhartono in the Mojokerto Class IIB Lapas on Wednesday (2/1/2019).
Sandiaga acknowledged that the toll road construction system had been implemented by the Joko Widodo administration. It's just that according to him, so far the toll road development system without burdening the country's finances has not been fully implemented.
"Thank God, now according to Mrs. Sri Mulyani and Pak Darmin, it is one pattern, but it has not been maximized in the current government. Under Prabowo-Sandi we want to be more maximized because we do not want to accumulate increasingly heavy debt. Because now every small child in Indonesia has "pay the debt of Rp. 13 million," he explained.
The maximization effort that will be carried out by Sandiaga if elected in the 2019 Presidential Election will be, among others, by establishing a partnership system between the government and business entities, the concession system, and the availability payment system.
He acknowledged that the system had been applied a lot before. He guarantees that if the system is implemented, the state does not need to spend funds to build a toll road.
"The state is not out of money, of course the state is only present as a regulator. And that has been done, many have already used the system. On some toll roads it has been done like that," he said.
